Birch Aquarium at Scripps Project Exhibition
2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla, CA 92037
Wednesday, March 11th @ 8:45am-12:30pm
With Mrs. Lee, Ms. Jones, and Ms. Lance
The purpose of this exhibition is to present our learning to a public audience at the aquarium where we started our learning journey. Students will display their art piece on the “Tidepool Plaza,” teach about the tidepool habitat and their tidepool animal, and share their writing with parents, family, and aquarium guests. We will have lunch at the aquarium after our exhibition, and return to school by dismissal.
*** As guests, please remember that your son/daughter will be at Birch Aquarium to interact with the public, teach about our class findings, and celebrate his/her learning. From 10:00 - 11:00am, they will be expected to work as though they are members of the Birch Aquarium staff. Please support us by interacting with students and visiting multiple locations within Birch Aquarium throughout the hour. We hope that you will join us at the picnic tables after the exhibition at 11:00 for a relaxing lunch together before returning back to school. ***

The purpose of this trip is to experience a different tidepool after learning more about the animals that live in this special habitat. We will be searching for our tidepool treasures, exploring the tidepool habitat, and recording data. With their 1st grade buddies, students will look closely at the animals in the tidepools. We will continue to learn about how plants and animals survive in the dynamic rocky shore environment. This experience will help us learn more about our tidepool animals, think about how to protect them, and how to share that knowledge as we prepare for exhibition in March.
