Birch Aquarium Exhibition and the HTeNC School Exhibition ~
Kindergarten and first grade had a successful exhibition at Birch Aquarium at Scripps on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Birch Aquarium Staff were impressed with the students’ poise and professionalism. The staff plans to sell our soon-to-be published books, First Grade’s Tidepool Treasures: An Explorer’s Guide and Kindergarten’s Treasure Our Tidepools in their gift shop. Please join us in celebrating their success. |

At exhibition, Kindergarten animal experts presented at this public exhibition through "all about" information books, and conservation posters about how to treasure their animals. First Graders were positioned at stations designated to teach about the phenomena of tides and special tidepool features. Parents, aquarium guests, and other school groups came to talk to HTeNC students about the tidepools. We are so proud of our student's work!

At exhibition, Kindergarten students talked about the process behind Tidepool Treasures. They taught family members, and other exhibition guests about making the tidepool mural (What is a habitat and what does a tidepool habitat need?), the critique process for their animal drawings, making their "all about" books, and making their painted paper animals for the conservation posters. Kindergarteners also taught the public about their animals using live animals donated from Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
